Why I Chose Holistic Skincare and Never Looked Back

Why I Chose Holistic Skincare and Never Looked Back

My journey as a Licensed Advanced Cosmetologist specializing in skin health

When I graduated from my high school cosmetology program in 2009, I knew I had found something special. While my license included hair, nails, and general cosmetology, I was immediately—and entirely—drawn to skincare. I haven’t looked back since.

For over a decade, I’ve focused exclusively on the skin, building a career that blends clinical understanding with intuitive, whole-person care. I’ve never practiced any other area of cosmetology professionally because my heart has always been in the treatment room—working closely with women to help them feel confident, restored, and seen.

A Holistic Philosophy from the Start

What sets my work apart is how I approach the skin—not just as an organ, but as a reflection of everything happening inside. Stress, hormones, sleep, gut health, emotional energy—they all show up on the skin. And that’s where true skincare begins.

Over the years, I’ve committed to deepening my education exclusively in skincare, with a focus on gentle, high-integrity techniques that support both visible results and internal balance. My continuing education includes:

  • Microcurrent with Gloves (7E Wellness Certified)

  • Galvanic Current for Age-Defying and Deep Cleansing Treatments

  • LED Light Therapy (LightStim+) for acne, aging, and inflammation

  • Lymphatic Drainage Techniques

  • Facial Cupping and Gua Sha Massage

  • Advanced Facial Massage and Jade Scalp Combing for Nervous System Support

  • Certified Dermaplaning and Barrier Repair Protocols

And through continued study with trusted educators, I’ve earned additional certifications from:

  • Edgar Renee Aesthetic Education Group (Acne Specialist & Deep Cleansing Techniques)

  • Jumozy (CEU credits in facial equipment, massage, and lymphatic drainage)

  • Nutritional Aesthetics Alliance (Skin Anatomy, Physiology & Hormones and Skin Health)

A Commitment to Botanical, Whole-Plant Skincare

In my treatment room, I only use products that align with my values:

  • Plant-based, vibrationally clean formulations

  • No synthetic fragrance, harsh preservatives, or disruptive ingredients

  • Hydrosols, oils, balms, and serums that support the skin’s rhythm—not override it

I have years of hands-on experience working with botanical products, including hydrosols, oil-based serums, and cleansing balms. I believe in simple, intuitive skincare that’s rooted in ritual, not routine. I also believe deeply in protecting the nervous system and skin barrier, especially for clients healing from overuse of harsh treatments or chronic skin stress.

A Space to Be Seen, Supported, and Cared For

Ultimately, my mission is simple: to help women feel at home in their skin. Whether it’s through gentle lymphatic drainage, grounding touch, or thoughtfully selected ingredients, I believe skincare should support the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

And after 15 years in this field, I can honestly say: I’m just getting started.
