How LED Fits Into a Customized Facial

How LED Fits Into a Customized Facial

LED light is one of those skincare modalities that looks futuristic, but I like it for a very practical reason: it can complement a thoughtful skincare plan without requiring an aggressive treatment.

I use LED in the treatment room when it makes sense for the client's skin and the goals of the appointment.

What is LED light?

LED devices use specific wavelengths of visible or near infrared light. Different wavelengths interact with the skin in different ways, which is why professional devices may offer more than one light option.

In skincare, LED is commonly used to support the appearance of calmer, healthier looking skin and as part of an age supportive routine. Certain wavelengths are also commonly incorporated into care for breakout prone skin.

Why consistency matters

LED is not a one time magic trick. Like many things in skincare, its value is tied to consistency and to using it as one part of a larger plan.

That is also why I do not look at modalities in isolation. Your cleanser, moisturizer, sun protection, treatment choices and everyday habits all matter too.

Why eye protection matters

Proper eye protection is an important part of an LED treatment. I follow the appropriate precautions for the device being used rather than treating eye protection as optional.

Where LED fits into a customized facial

I do not add a modality simply because it is available. Depending on your skin, LED may be paired with other appropriate techniques or it may be one of the main modalities selected for the day.

The goal is always to create a facial that makes sense as a whole.
